Massage Therapy

Courtney Connell is a compassionate and highly trained acupuncturist who has a gentle and effective style blending multiple acupuncture methods to provide customized treatments for the many disorders he is capable of treating such as back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, digestive disorders, autoimmune conditions, and psycho-emotional issues.

Acupuncture Therapy is a clinic that was passed on from local Eugene, Oregon acupuncturist, Stuart Greenleaf.  Mr. Greenleaf and Courtney spent six weeks together in training in which Stuart passed on his methods he developed during his 30 year career.  The methods consist of a gentle alignment of the spine and the application of sophisticated specific frequency micro-current stimulation of acupuncture points. The method is very effective at relieving pain and encourage healing for many disorders.

Dr. Courtney’s has specialized in pulse diagnosis throughout his career. Initially he was mentored by William Morris at AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine when Dr. Morris was developing his Neo-Classical pulse diagnosis style. Dr. Courtney uses the pulse as his primary window for diagnosis and treatment. He calls this style pulse balancing. As the acupuncture is applied the pulse will respond confirm the treatment is affecting the system. These treatments have a tendency to trigger the relaxation response and regulate the autonomic nervous system and are generally used as a prelude to pain relief. When the body is in a relaxed para-sympathic dominant state it is capable of healing.

Dr. Connell received his Masters in Science and Oriental Medicine from AOMA Graduate School in Integrative Medicine in Austin TX in 2008.  Since graduating he has sought additional training in the art and science of Chinese Medicine, consistently taking continuing education seminar to satisfy his fascination with his discipline.  He attended a two year program in Worsley School 5 element medicine and Shen-Hamer pulse diagnosis with Lonny Jarrett which he completed in 2015.   In 2019 he attained a First Professional Doctorate from Pacific College of Natural Medicine, San Diego.  He is currently pursuing training in treating trauma, anxiety, depression and PTSD utilizing frequency specific micro-current stimulation and the 5 element paradigm, exploring the link between physical pain and emotional trauma.

I have extensive training in functional medicine, visceral manipulation and cranial sacral therapy. I am a certified meditation coach as well. I utilize every modality that is needed for your specific healing path. I look forward to working together to optimize your healing experience.

I have been a helper and healer my whole life. Whether it was helping my family and friends with all kinds of tasks to helping a stranger find their dog, I have always known deep down I wanted to help myself as well as others heal. I learned on my healing journey that I can only help others heal as much I heal myself. With that in mind, I am constantly growing and healing, so I may be a better practitioner and healer for you. Together we can empower ourselves, to take back our health and find that divine healing power in each one of us.

We are all unique individual beings living our best lives. Treating the individual and not just their symptoms is how I help every patient. Symptoms are nice pieces of the ‘YOU’ picture, but they do not paint the whole picture. Treating the mind, body and spirit provides for deep connection to the self and longer lasting healing results. We all have an innate power to not only heal oneself, but thrive in one’s experience. Learning to empower your innate healing potential is part of the healing path I will collaborate with you on.
